Colon Hydrotherapy

Colon irrigation, colonics or colon therapy are all names for Colon Hydrotherapy. A Soothing flow of filtered, temperature-controlled water gently circulates through the colon, coaxing your body into eliminating stored toxins from different areas.

Colon Hydrotherapy Facts

How Many Colonic Sessions Do You Need?

The International Association of Colon Hydrotherapist (I-ACT)  recommends your first two sessions be within 24 - 48 hours of each other because...

  1. 70% of the blood that passes through your body also passes through your colon.   Toxins are stirred up during the first session and may get into the blood stream.  By having your second session within 24 - 48 hours, it may help eliminate some of those toxins so you are not walking around feeling tired, run down and lethargic.
  2. Most people don't drink enough water.   Colons love water and on your first session may act like a sponge and absorb a lot of water.  This is good.  Approximately 95% of the time people will have a better release on their second session than they do on their first because of the softening agent.

Where you go from your first two sessions is up to you.  Typically, we suggest 8 - 12 sessions to properly clean the colon.

However, diet, lifestyle, medications you have taken or are currently taking, stress levels, etc can determine the amount needed.  If you are receiving colon hydrotherapy to treat constipation, it may take longer to retrain the bowel.

 What To Expect

When you arrive at Stubbendieck Chiropractic & Rehabilitation Center, you will be warmly greeted by Nancy Block, our Nationally Certified Colon Hydrotherapist, and asked to fill out a confidential client intake form.  She will then discuss what your goals are for receiving colonic sessions.  You will then be shown to the colon hydrotherapy room where Nancy will explain how our LIBBE Colon Hydrotherapy table works and how to insert the rectal tube.  She will then leave and allow you to undress  from the waist down and position yourself comfortably on the LIBBE base and insert the rectal tube yourself.  You then drape yourself with a sheet.  Nancy will then re-enter the room to instruct, monitor, and be available to assist you as needed during your session.

Safe, purified, temperature controlled water is passed through the rectal tube and gently into your colon.  When you feel the need to release, the rectal tube will move to one side of the rectum allowing the waste to flow to the drain in the seat basin table and then through a clear viewing tube.  An Odor Exhaust System insures the area remains odor free.  The sessions last approximately 45 minutes.
